PyCon's Anti-Prom

I didn't get to go to PyCon this year. I'm just now back from Austin, where I was discussing secret plans. More on that soon.

However, before I forget, I'd just like to thank Ted Leung for specifically mentioning Divmod's absence in his PyCon wrap-up. It's good to be missed. We missed interacting with the PyCon crowd this year too - and of course, specifically the Chandler team ;-).

(PS, it's "Divmod", not "DivMod" - although Ted is hardly the only person I've seen make this mistake. I have a feeling it's fated to be a common one, like the way some people say "PC or MAC" as if "MAC" were an acronym for Macintosh Apple Computer or something.)

You were in Austin and you couldn't make it to Dallas? You couldn't make one little hop over to Dallas? Where's the love? WHERE IS THE LOVE!?

Y'all were particularly missed in the sprints. Not one Twisted person in sight!

The love is still there, I assure you.

A, it was just me, and Allen for some of the trip; the rest of the Divmod team wasn't there.

B, When you say "little hop", you have to remember that Texas is like nine billion times bigger than any other state.

C, I was so busy that I missed at least 3 of the people in austin that I was supposed to be seeing, not to mention that this was sort of a vacation for me.

I did want to come to PyCon but this was a worthwhile sacrifice. I'm working on that next post... ;-)
