Does this mean I can sue the MPAA?

Apparently the MPAA is harassing Linux Australia on my behalf, without my permission.

I guess this just goes to show that they have no respect for copyright law. Bunch of bloody anarchists, they are, those MPAA guys. Stealing the hard labor of innocent copyright creators of content, rapacity on the high seas, etc etc.

I wonder if I should write to my former employers and suggest an opportunity to them?

Wow. Well, I'm glad to hear that the MPAA Flying Monkeys Of Justice are keeping the world safe for democracy. Our Tax Dollars At Work! Maybe they aren't in the right country, or defending anything along the lines of an actual American Motion Picture, but you have to give them an A+ for effort.

(Kinda sad that situations like this are only the way Open Source projects ever make the news...)

As for suing them... If you have the cash, go for it! Sue them till candy comes out! Although that gets real expensive , real fast, unless you can somehow get IBM involved.

Failing that, at least let them know how you feel. I'm usually pretty anti-lawsuit, but they're an important form of communication for large businesses. Don't be shy! A nice Cease And Desist is the corporate equivalent of an e-card with an animated huggy-kitten. (And if you don't "drop them a line", as it were, then technically you are sort of agreeing with them.)
