If anyone in the area (and you know who you are, for example you are
I would also appreciate it if you would post comments about groups that I should seek out and attempt to talk to for some reason for integration with the Twisted, Atop, Nevow, Quotient, etc, etc, etc. Double points if you're actually from that project, and triple points if you're the one who will meet me at the conference yourself. If you know someone interesting I should talk to, please refer them to this entry and encourage them to comment.
Advice about what to look for at the conference is also appreciated. I have no idea what I want to do when I get there other than watch the madman who built me rant and rave and look for interesting people to talk to.
Seriously though, I would offer that last as advice for you, the reader: I highly recommend going to the aforementioned madman's keynote. He's an impressive speaker with a stellar list of references and a lot of interesting things to say. He has an uncanny knack for looking at an issue in a completely alien and enlightening way. If you enjoyed seeing me speak at PyCon or the paper I co-wrote for USENIX, imagine somebody similar who's had 20 years more practice.
So with that, comment away! I hope to see you all soon.

Yay Portland visitors. Let me know if you need crash space. I'm a twenty minute bus ride from the hotel. But the human which #twisted recommended bludgeoning with a chair and a heavy book is here too, so keep an eye open.
We will try to turn the temperature down a bit from where it is today, but no promises on that front.
I also recommend public transportation for moving between the airport and downtown. It works quite well, unless you need to travel before four in the morning or after eleven at night.
It looks like this is a family affair, so I'm coming down to the conference with my eldest younger sister and we're sharing some hotel space, so no crashage required. Are you coming to the con or shall I trundle out to see you? I am sure that whatever crowd I'm with could use some native direction to superior vittles.
As says though, I am a very nice person, except hypothetically. If the aforementioned human doesn't mind a metaphorical savage beating, I'm sure I would love to meet it. The literal experience of the beating would involve more diagrams with boxes and arrows than it would actual chairs or broken planks of wood with nails stuck in them.
I'm not planning on being at the conference, but I'd be happy to meet people in town in outside-the-conference venues.
I'd like to get together also.
Great. Do you think we should have a twisted-themed get-together one night after the conference? How many other folks in this orbit will be attending?
